The goal of this scholarship is to help students understand the important role that technology plays in the modern classroom and how laptops – used instead of printed materials or paper – impact students’ learning.
The scholarship amount is $1,100, and the application deadline is September 1st, 2018. The winner is selected on September 5th, 2018.

How to Apply
Those interested in applying must provide us with the following information and documentation via e-mail to firstname.lastname@example.org.
- Your full name.
- Your home address and e-mail address.
- The name of your current school.
- Proof that you are currently a student.
- A 1,000 to 1,200-word essay answering the following question: Are laptops helpful to students in the classroom or too distracting?
How the Scholarship is Awarded
Once we have determined an applicant’s eligibility, we will be judging his or her essay based on the following criteria:
- Adherence to the assigned topic
- Strength of the argument

Please note that we will only consider your application if you meet the requirements at the time of submission.
To be eligible, you must be:
- a U.S. Citizen,
- a full-time student enrolled in either a high school, a college or a university at the time you apply.

Please note that you do not have to specialize in any computer science-related field to apply for this scholarship. All applicants that meet the eligibility requirements will be considered, regardless of their intended major or current field of study.
